Code of Conduct for Building at the Edge

Welcome!

We are excited to bring together all the amazing women in tech at the Hacking at the Edge. This hackathon is a space for collaboration, innovation, and learning. To ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for everyone, we have established the following Code of Conduct.

Our Values:

  • Respect: We treat everyone with respect and dignity, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, religion, or any other characteristic.

  • Inclusivity: We actively encourage participation from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We aim to create a space where everyone feels welcome, valued, and supported.

  • Collaboration: We believe in the power of collaboration and encourage teamwork, open communication, and the sharing of ideas.

  • Integrity: We act with honesty and integrity throughout the event. This includes respecting intellectual property and avoiding plagiarism.

Expected Behavior:

  • Be courteous and respectful towards others, both online and offline.

  • Avoid any form of harassment, discrimination, or bullying. This includes offensive language, jokes, or behavior based on someone's identity.

  • Be mindful of your words and actions, and avoid anything that could be interpreted as threatening, intimidating, or hostile.

  • Promote a positive and welcoming environment for everyone.

  • Be inclusive and avoid making assumptions or generalizations about others.

  • Uphold intellectual property rights and avoid plagiarism.

Unacceptable Behavior:

  • Any form of harassment, discrimination, or bullying.

  • Hate speech, offensive language, or imagery.

  • Unwelcome physical or verbal advances.

  • Cheating, plagiarism, or theft of intellectual property.

  • Disruption of the event or any presentations.

  • Recording or livestreaming others without their consent.

  • Violation of any laws or regulations.

Reporting a Concern:

If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to an organizer or volunteer. You may also report anonymously at team@thenewclub.fyi. All reports will be taken seriously and handled with discretion.

Consequences of Violation:

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, removal from the event, or disqualification from the competition.
